NAMES ANNE CARR AS LOBBYIST
The Nashville Women’s Political Caucus announces the appointment of Anne Carr as its lobbyist.
“We are excited to have Anne join the Caucus to lead our proactive lobbying efforts,” said Emily Richard, president of the Caucus. “Her extensive legislative background will ensure the Caucus’s presence on Capitol Hill remains strong, representing the interests of women and families in Tennessee.”
Carr is a principal with Smith Harris and Carr where she focuses on a wide variety of health care and business issues.
Carr’s lobbying career began with her appointment as in-house lead lobbyist for the Tennessee State Employees Association. She then moved to the Tennessee Health Care Association where she worked on health care legislation with an emphasis on nursing homes and the elderly.
As a contract lobbyist since 1986, Carr has developed her knowledge on a wide range of health care topics, working for organizations representing teaching hospitals, primary care centers, psychiatrists and pharmaceutical companies.
In her volunteer work for the community, Carr has served as a regional representative on the regional Workforce Investment Board, on the state’s Perinatal Advisory Committee, as president of Nashville CARES, and as a member of the Metro Nashville Storm Water Management Committee.
